The fund Demeter 2 was launched on November 18th, 2008 with an objective of 200 million euros and a 1st closing at 125 million euros. Demeter 2 is the successor fund of Demeter, a fund of 105 million euros fully invested as of today. Investors in the Demeter 2 fund include 2 sponsors (CDC Entreprises within the framework of FSI France Investissement, IFP Investissements), a core of a dozen faithful investors already present in the 1st Demeter fund (the main are Cardif, Robeco, CM-CIC, CNP Assurances, Predica), but new investors as well: European Investment Fund (EIF), Neotec (Spanish Fund of fund), Pictor (fund in which members of the Halley family are invested), Total, Dalhia, GDF Suez, Actys 2, Crédit Coopératif and AXA.
Let’s remind that Demeter 2 is a FCPR dedicated to the eco energies and eco industries sectors in France and Europe with an investment strategy mainly “expansion capital” deployed in France, Spain and Germany.
Demeter Partners is a pioneer in France and Europe in the cleantech fields. Its new fund will follow the investment strategy, which proved to be reliable for the previous fund: to identify high potential niches and to select appealing companies with a good positioning in the chain of value, so building a diversified and balanced portfolio.
Created in Paris in June 2005, Demeter Partners is an independent management company, which manages to date 308 million euros. The Demeter Partners’ team includes fourteen people in Paris of which five partners who actively foster the companies in which they invest. Truly European, Demeter Partners has an office today in Madrid (5 people) and Berlin (2 people).
