The Demeter 2 Fund is a € 200 million FCPR devoted, such as the FCPR Demeter, to companies of the eco-energies and eco-industries sectors.

The geographic target will include France (more than 50%), Spain (25%), Germany as well as the rest of Europe. One or two investments in the rest of the world are possible.

60% of the amounts will be invested in expansion capital operations while 20% will be invested in venture capital and 20% in LBO operations or majority equity participations.

Among the new subjects addressed by Demeter 2 appear in particular LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) as well as green transportation (particularly electric vehicles).

The 2 sponsors of the FCPR Demeter (CDC Entreprises, IFP Investissement) are also sponsors of the FCPR Demeter. The Demeter 2 fund counts also ten or so faithful investors already present in the 1st Demeter Fund (the main of them are Robeco, Cardif, CIC/Crédit Mutuel, CNP), but new investors as well (European Investment Fund (FEI), Total, Crédit Coopératif, Dahlia, Caser, GDF-Suez).

The Demeter Fund is sponsored by the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC Entreprises) which has made sustainable development a major component of its development strategy.

The Institut Français du Pétrole acts as co-sponsor by contributing its expertise in the areas of energy and the environment.

Most investors in the Funds are insurance companies and retirement or provident funds and French or European pension funds.

The most important investors are ROBECO, CARDIF, CIC, Crédit Mutuel/ Assurance Vie, CNP, TOTAL. 

The funds are also opened to private investors if they invest a minimum of € 1.000.000 and if they fall in the category of investors having the knowledge and skills required to assess the risks inherent to transactions involving financial instruments (Qualified Investors) that is, in accordance with Article 414-27 of the AMF's General By-Laws.
