Demeter, mother of the earth
Our name and logo are directly related to the sectors in which
the Demeter fund invests.
In Greek mythology, Demeter is the sister of
Zeus. Her name means “mother of the earth”.
She is recognized as the goddess of fertility, abundance and the
ground which feeds humanity.
In Roman mythology, Demeter is identified with
Cereus.
In modern times, Demeter would watch over economic
development, showing respect for nature.
This is what we refer to today as sustainable development.
The "M" in the Demeter Partners logo
is the rune Berkano, used horizontally here. Runes are the letters
forming the old sacred alphabet of the people of Northern Europe.
Berkano symbolizes Mother Earth and fertility. It refers to the
goddess Demeter.
